Writing brings us close. Our words dance like living things, here, ready, always.

I wrote this at Coleridge’s house back in the spring. I’d forgotten all about it. I was thinking of Coleridge and Wordsworth and all the other poets that are connected to me by writing. But it works more broadly, I hope.
I began writing because I wanted to tell stories. I still do that, but now I also write to find out who I am and how I feel. And sharing who I am and how I feel sometimes helps others to do the same.
Would you like to have a go in a very gentle environment? Join me on zoom on Thursday at 7.30pm GMT.
This week I will be offering the opportunity to sketch out Modern Haiku.
In November, we will be having a go at writing a short story or several pieces of flash fiction.
I will be sending out a date for the Winter Quiet Garden Hour soon. If you want to read anything else I’m writing, head to my Substack page. I will be sending out a few more emails in the next little while, so if you would rather only hear about Quiet Garden Hour, please unsubscribe below and I will just keep you on my QGH list.
In the meantime, I hope to see some of you in a writing workshop!
Warmly,
Deb x
I’ve been giving creative writing workshops for the last few years and love to offer space for people to scribble a few thoughts down with the tools they’ve already got.
In 2020/2021 I wrote a book of modern haiku which is essentially a scrapbook of learnings, feelings and wonderings. You can find it here and can watch a video about the making of it below.
