Dear friends,

Today I spent an expansive hour in my studio while it rained outside. We were away for a week and so I didn’t demand much from myself. I never demand much from myself there actually. I just spend time. Today I tried my new Woody crayons, ate a left over holiday snack (Rice Krispies Squares totally chocolaty), listened to and watched the rain, drank fruit tea, played with paint caught up on a few podcasts and had some thoughts.

I made this little sketch using mostly the paint that was left in my palette from previous paintings. The lines, I added with my new crayons. Then I wiped the palette clean for next time. There is something satisfying about using what you’ve already got and seeing where it goes. The shape is from an old photo of Catbells.

Below I have popped what I’m listening to in the studio in case you are interested. My brain craves something in my ears while I do other things. At home and in the car I usually listen to fiction or music; in the studio, non-fiction (mostly about creativity, spirituality, brain stuff, nature).

Do you like audio? What are you listening to?

In other news, I have a plan for CCC for this term. We are an ever-evolving community of very few and I have known since the beginning that I shall have to be brave to let it grow. So I am planning to put a couple of standalone CCC Lives in over the summer to give people a taste of what this is with no commitment.

I will continue to write to you every week, but CCC Live will be on pause while I pop in the monthly standalone dates. More details to follow next week.

Much love and I hope you had a happy half term,

Deb xx
